City Passes Fire Pit Regulations

Hello Homeowners,

At the City of Plattsburgh’s June 8th Common Council meeting, a local law was passed regulating the use of “fire pits.”  The specific regulation of note for Lake Country Village is the provision that these types of fires must be a minimum of 25 feet “from any structure or combustible material.”  A complete text of the local law can be viewed by clicking here (scroll down to Item #7.)  There is also a complaint procedure that is to be followed to report violations of this local law, which are to be reported to a City Police, Fire or Codes Enforcement Officer.  (We ask that you not report these complaints to our Property Manager as he is not empowered to enforce the City Code.)

We have also added a link to these minutes on our links page.
